Have you ever applied for funding from Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner and been unsuccessful?

Request for interviewees as part of MA dissertation research.

About the Study: The research focuses on the impact of funding by the Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) on local women and girls’ organisations (WGOs). Specifically, with the aim to understand who has received funding, for what purposes, and the overall impact this funding has had on WGOs from 2014 to the present.
The sub-questions of the dissertation include:
  • Is the allocation of funding proportionate and inclusive?
  • What are the positives and negatives of WGOs receiving the funding?
  • What impact do the application process and impact assessment requirements have on WGOs?
  • What is the impact of the length of funding and its potential withdrawal?
  • What is the current relationship dynamic between the Northumbria PCC and the regional WGOs?
Who can take part: Stacey has reached out directly to some organisations who have received funding from the PCC but what she also needs is to interview organisations who have previously applied for the funding but been unsuccessful.
What Participation Involves: Participation involves attending a 45-minute to 1-hour interview, either in person or online via Teams, during April and May. The interview will be an informal conversation where you can share your opinions on the impact of PCC funding on your organisation. You will receive the list of questions in advance, allowing you to discuss them with colleagues if you wish. Your responses can be as detailed as you like, and she will take notes during the interview and the audio will be recorded. The person within your organisation she would ideally like to interview needs to be in a role that was directly involved in the funding application process.
