In September 2024, the North East organisation Represent Women created and shared a comprehensive survey to gather valuable insights from the community. This initiative aimed to understand the preferences, opinions, and experiences of women and girls on how well local services and support works for them and suggestions for improvement.  variety of important topics.

Key Areas of Focus:

  1. North East Combined Authority and Tees Valley Combined Authority: The survey sought to gauge how engaged community members felt with North East statutory services across the region and whether they felt they met the needs of women and girls.
  2. Wider Services: The survey provided women with the opportunity to feedback on wider services such as those delivered by charities, non-profits and the community sector. Providing an opportunity to create a broader picture of how women are supported across the community.
  3. Suggestions for improvement: The survey also aimed to collect insights into what the community would like to see change.

Why Your Feedback Mattered:

The responses collected from this survey will play a significant role in shaping the strategies and actions of Represent Women. By participating, community members contributed to compiling data and uplifting North East women’s voices so Represent Women can advocate and campaign for more responsive and effective services that represent their needs.

 

Next Steps:

After compiling the survey results, Represent Women will share a summary of the findings with the community later in the year. The summary will outline the steps they plan to take based on the feedback received.

 

Driving Systemic Change:

In addition to sharing the survey results, Represent Women created and distributed briefing documents using the collected data to local decision makers. These documents are designed to enable systemic change, ensuring that local services can better meet the needs of women and girls. By providing these insights to key stakeholders, the Represent Women aims to foster a more supportive and responsive environment for women and girls in the North East.

This survey was a testament to Represent Women’s dedication to listening to and acting on the voices of women. The insights gained have already begun to influence their future direction, ensuring that they remain aligned with the needs and aspirations of those they serve.
