What They Do
Newcastle Women’s Aid is a charity run by women for women. We provide free, specialist advice and support for women and girls in Newcastle and the North East who are affected by domestic abuse.
Newcastle Women’s Aid offers a range of free and confidential support services for women and girls affected by domestic abuse. Our services include a confidential helpline, one-to-one support and group work. Services are fully accessible, inclusive and can be accessed by anyone who has been affected by domestic abuse.
We help women and girls see that they’re not alone. We provide a reassuring presence and a source of validation for women who may feel they’re in the wrong place, that they’re wasting our time, or there’s someone who’s worse off. We offer a safe and confidential space where they can share their experiences and never be judged. We help them find understanding and that lightbulb moment when they realise it’s not their fault.
