Samosa sisters

What They Do

Samosa Sisters is a refugee-led community organisation, supporting and empowering vulnerable women living in North East England.

We support refugees and asylum seeking women in the North East to integrate and to overcome some of the difficulties they face, such as cultural and social differences and language barriers.

Many women refugees are isolated and without support networks. In some cases this can cause depression or other mental health issues. Our main work is with women who suffer domestic violence and lose their confidence, self-esteem and their voice as a result. Providing a safe social space for women to come together can help combat these problems.
