Women Today
What They Do
Women Today NE is a Middlesbrough-based charity led by and for Black African women and girls. They provide a welcoming, safe and inclusive space where women can build confidence, make connections and access practical support.
They support women and girls from a wide range of backgrounds, including those experiencing isolation, financial hardship, family pressures or barriers to accessing services. Their work helps women feel heard, valued and empowered to make positive changes in their lives. They also support newly arrived Black and minority ethnic women as they navigate life in Britain. Through cultural awareness, information, guidance and community support, they help women understand British customs, services and systems while also valuing and respecting their own cultural identities.
