Tyneside Women’s Health
What They Do
Services help women to improve their mental health, reduce social isolation, and help diverse communities of women and girls to participate no matter their mental health or circumstances. Several frontline services are focused on supporting women and girls to recover from abuse and the impact this has had on their lives and mental health.
Women have access to the following interventions:
- Open Access Activities – providing therapeutic benefits such as singing, dancing, drop in, Sunday Lunch, and creative sessions.
- Mental Health courses – developing coping strategies for specific conditions.
- Support Groups – targeted at specific groups of women.
- Counselling, resilience and progression focused programmes, and peer support networks are also available.
We were established in 1985 and support over 600 women each year from our Centres in Central Gateshead and Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne as well as various outreach locations.
